Body Shaper Review- Ardyss, Spanx, Kymaro
Hello! I’ve decided to create this site to compare some of the different body shapers out on the market. After trying out many of the shapers on the market, I have found that there are a couple that really stand out from the others. As you continue reading, I will provide my opinion on which shapers give the best results, and which to stay away from. I hope my experiences can help you in your search for the right body shaper.
What are Body Shapers?
Women used to wear corsets and girdles in the old days to help them achieve a desired body shape and appearance. These were mostly laced and so tight that it made breathing hard. In comparison, body shapers today have improved tremendously. Technology has allowed body shapers to be created with much thinner and comfortable material. Body shapers are undergarments that men and women wear to help them improve the shape of their bodies.
Some of the key areas that a body shaper can help you are:
- Giving you a slender figure
- Getting rid of the flabs and tummy
- Toning your buttocks
- Tapering your hips
- Trim down a couple sizes lower
- Correcting your posture
- Alleviating back pains and problems
These are just a few reasons why people love body shapers. On top of all these physical improvements to your body, it can also help improve your confidence. For this reason alone, it is worth it to find the best shaper out there. So without further ado, here is my comparisons for the three main body shapers.
Body Shaper Comparisons – Ardyss, Spanx, and Kymaro
There are three major companies selling body shapers, Ardyss, Spanx, and Kymaro. Of course, there are others out there, but in my search for body shapers, these are the three main companies making these products. Each of these companies makes a wide selection of products, but I have focused on their main “body shaper” products. Below I have compared all three of these products, comparing each with the others. I have broken down my analysis into three areas: Fabric Quality, Shaping Performance, and Value. I feel that these are the most important factors to consider when deciding what body shaper to buy.
Fabric Quality
Kymaro Body Shaper – Most of the Kymaro body shaper products are made from 90% polyester. Polyester does not breathe well so it can get very hot and uncomfortable. The fabric that held up the garments tended to roll and bunch up, which required constant adjustment.
Ardyss Body Magic – The Body Magic from Ardyss is made of 100% natural fibers, making it really breathable.
Spanx – The main fabric used is nylon, which can get hot, and is not an all-natural fiber.
Overall, the Ardyss Body Magic had the best fabric. Since they are made with 100% natural fibers, it makes the product the most breathable and comfortable. Kymaro’s body shaper was the worst of the three.
Shaping Performance
Kymaro – Kymaro body shapers did an OK job at helping you slim the waistline, but for women who are heavy set, it is not very helpful. As mentioned above in the fabric quality, the material bunched up a lot, so it requires constant readjusting. It felt more like my body was just being compressed.
Ardyss – At first, the Body Magic feels a bit uncomfortable. It is a lot stiffer and tighter than the Kymaro and Spanx shaper, but its shaping performance is by far the best. Rather than just feeling like your body being compressed, you can really feel that your weight is being redistributed to the right places in your body.
Spanx – Spanx also shapes the body quite well. Compared to Ardyss, it feels a little more comfortable, but does not redistribute the weight as well to other areas of your body.
Value
Kymaro – The cheapest body shapers of the group. Prices range from $30-$40.
Ardyss – The most expensive of the three. Price ranges from $70-$140.
Spanx – Spanx was the median price in this group. Body shapers cost in the range of $40-$80.
So Which Shaper Should I Buy?

The Ardyss Body Magic was by far the best body shaper. Its fabric quality is superior to both the Kymaro and Spanx, and it provides the best results in terms of how it changes your body shape. Of course, the price of the Ardyss Body Magic is steeper than the other competitors.
If price is a big issue for you, you may want to consider the Spanx body shaper. At about 25%-50% lower priced compared to the Arydss Body Magic, it is not a bad product at all. It does perform quite well, helping you reshape your body, but its fabric quality is a major negative.
Kymaro was by far the worst product, and I would NOT recommend it under any circumstances. The only selling point that it has is that it is the lowest priced body shaper at about $40. It has very poor fabric quality and it will not be very good at reshaping your body.
In summary, if you are looking for the best body shaper available, the Ardyss Body Magic is hands down the choice for you. If price is a major issue for you, the Spanx body shaper is a good trade-off. Priced significantly lower than the Ardyss Body Magic, you still get comparable performance and quality.
For me personally, I fell in love with the Ardyss Body Magic. If you would like to find out more about the Ardyss products and where to purchase them, visit the official site below.
